Legal Secretary

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Lets look at the position of Legal Secretary in the UK, basically this is a person who works in the legal profession and whose tasks involve (amongst others) to assist solicitors and lawyers with cases this would involve the preparation of legal documents and related work.

In the commercial sector, a Legal secretary may also be a manger, this person would be efficient and organized and would see to it that legal documents would be filed and in order uniformly. This role in the USA and Canada would be called a Legal Secretary, however in England and the United Kingdom, the same person can be classed as a Paralegal but unlike America, this person would have more responsibility and tackle case preparation, dealing with clients usually in a law firm.

Functions of this post include administration and backup support to solicitors and lawyers, its very much a hands on job and the tasks each day can vary, the rewards our very good for this position and vary from company to company.

London and Home Counties : £25-38K per year

Northwest around £15 -£25k

The salary paid is pretty much dependent on the type of work carried out. Roles include Conveyancing, Real Estate, Wills & Probate plus lots more.

Qualifications:

Typically, you would have IT experience and be an efficient secretary. With most companies, being efficient with MS Office also is a plus. This job is not an administrative assistant, and there are many opportunities for advancement via legal courses etc.
